Гурав ба түүнээс дээш зүйлээс хамгийн … гэдгийг илэрхийлнэ. the + -est эсвэл the most.

Using superlatives

Superlative-ийн өмнө ЗААВАЛ the (эсвэл эзэмшлийн үг) орно. Хүрээг in/of-оор заана.

The Nile is the longest river in the world. (✗ of the world)
Нил бол дэлхийн хамгийн урт гол.
It was the best day of my life.
Энэ миний амьдралын хамгийн сайхан өдөр байлаа.
She’s my best friend.
Тэр миний хамгийн сайн найз.
This is the most expensive restaurant in town.
Энэ бол хотын хамгийн үнэтэй ресторан.

💡 Санамж: Газар нутагт in, бүлэгт of: the tallest in the class / the best of the three.

Present perfect with superlatives

"Хамгийн … би хэзээ ч үзсэн" гэсэн бүтэцтэй present perfect ordog.

It’s the best film I’ve ever seen.
Энэ бол миний үзсэн хамгийн сайхан кино.
She’s the kindest person I’ve ever met.
Тэр бол миний уулзсан хамгийн эелдэг хүн.
That was the worst meal I’ve ever had.
Энэ бол миний идсэн хамгийн муу хоол байлаа.
